Turning Fishing From A Sport... To A Dream - The Eagle FishElite 480

The Eagle 480 takes the sport of fishing and turns it into a technological dream. With the highly usable features on board this system, you are sure to not only locate and bring in your fish but also to impress your friends with your new toy. Let's get right to the features as the Eagle 480 has many to talk about.

We'll start with the display and sonar. The 480 offers an LCD five inch diagonal screen. It is displayed in high definition 480x480 resolution. The screen and the keypad have a backlight to allow for fishing in dark hours of the days as well. What you get in this display is a good looking, 16 level grayscale that will provide for you a good, black and white picture of the bottom and of the waters below. When your sonar beams back to your boat, you'll have a clear enough picture to understand what's there and to bring it in.

The sonar is also high quality. In fact, you can digitally record and play sonar graphs and GPS trip details with its memory cards. The sonar has a depth of 800 feet which is great for most lakes. It has a high performance transducer which can detect some of the smallest items even while your boat is cruising at 70 miles per hour. Why is this good? It gives you all the details. What's below you? Where is it hiding? It will tell you where the bottom is and where the fish is and it will tell you with details what your fish is up to. All this helps you to tailor your bait and cast so that you can bring home lots of fish every time.

Imagine knowing what fish are below you.. It takes the frustrating guesswork out of fishing. There's no guarantee of a big catch, but with the Eagle Fish Elite it's close.

But, that is not all the Eagle 480 has to offer. Is also comes with pretty powerful GPS + WAAS technology. That means it will help you get out to your hotspot, help you to find a new one and will help you get back home without getting lost. Imagine finding those hidden coves anywhere the fish are simply teaming!

You can do all of this with the FishElite 480.

Fishing Tips for Beginners

There are many kinds of fishing equipments in stores, numerous fishing methods in books, and fishing advices online. To make it all simple, here are the basic things you need to know for your first time fishing adventure.

1) How to fish with bait

* Tackle. To plunk the bait, you should purchase lead weights. The weight of the lead would vary depending on the current of the environment. Anglers commonly use and recommend bank sinkers with a number-two hook.

To avoid sinkers to slide, you would need a swivel to act as a stop. To protect the knot, you could use plastic beads between the swivel and weight. Using two appropriate swivels could allow you to rig the sliding sinkers.

* Bait. The commonly used bait for all kinds of fishes is worms. Another popular bait is chicken liver. Remember to buy fresh bait and keep them cold to avoid them from getting soft and allowing the bait to stay within your hooks.

Some of the commonly used baits are cut-baits which include skin from fried chicken, fish entrails, grasshoppers, salmon eggs, shrimps and crayfish tails.

2) How to fish - There are three basic methods for fishing.

* Plunking - It is the most common method used. Use a suitable amount of weight for you to be able to take hold of the bait in a position which is against any current. An option in plunking is to use minimal weight for the bait to move along with the water current.

* Back bouncing - It is done by lifting the bait out the bottom and raising the tip of the rod for one to two feet. Allowing the bait to walk with the current, you should free the back reel or spool. Repeat the steps when the lure settles down on the bottom. Back bouncing is effective in deeper water like fishing in a boat.

* Drift-fishing - It is a simple method wherein you cast upstream or downstream. This may vary depending on the current's amount. You should count the appropriate depth and start reeling.

3) How to fish from a boat - It is important to determine in which location you would perform your fishing. Deeper water needs heavier jigheads compared when fishing on shore.

* With heavy weight which keeps your bait near the bottom of the water and the line straight down from your boat, you are able to drift the boat along with any current. A good technique of fishing on boats is trolling slowly with a fishing device called bottom-walker.

Fishing is easy as long as you're enjoying the trip. Bring some of your family and friends along and make your first time fishing a memorable one.

Do You Love Florida Bass Fishing? Use Big Bait!

Wasting even a few minutes seems to be a tough task nowadays but believe me that the time spent in reading this article about florida bass fishing is not going to prove a waste of time.

If you enjoy florida bass fishing, you are sure to enjoy this article for the content it contains. Every effort has been taken to provide you with quality content which might be useful to you.

During the course of your reading of this article about florida bass fishing, you must have realized that there could be more than one approach towards one topic. That is what we have tried to do-taking a new approach to florida bass fishing.

Whenever I am not guiding or tournament fishing, I trully enjoy spending time fishing strictly for big fish. Over the years I have always been the type who would rather catch just one big fish in a fourteen hour day as opposed to twenty small fish in an hour. In my case, looking for big bass is more of a "hunting trip" rather than a day of fishing and I have learned to treat big bass as completely different critters that their younger and smaller relatives.

To me, a "big bass" starts at around seven pounds. Consistent catches of bass over seven pounds requires major changes in fishing locations, tactics and no less important, mental preparation. The hardest part of the whole process may be "psyching" yourself into the fact that during your fishing time for big fish you are going to get fewer bites and you are going to have to be much more focused. Also, you must mentally assure yourself that the reward will be worth all the effort in the end!

In the beginning itself I made it clear that it was not our purpose to make you omniscient about florida bass fishing. What we wanted was to make you aware of the fundamentals of florida bass fishing and that is what we are doing.

I like big baits for big bass. There is no question in my mind that as a bass grows so does its appetite. I have boated four pound bass with the tails of baitfish over eight inches long hanging out of their mouths and they still had the tenacity to strike the big baits that I so often throw. I love to tell the story about how when I was a younster, my brother, my cousin and I would fish for bass with live frogs on spinning rods. We used frogs so big that we could not cast them with the rod. We had to lay the rods down, flip the bail and throw the frogs by hand!

We caught some BIG bass on those live frogs but we also caught a large number of two pound fish that we figured had to defy the laws of physics by somehow getting those huge frogs into their mouths. So, I have learned that just because I choose big baits it does not mean that I will not catch some smaller fish as well!

Large topwater baits are my favorite fishing methods to use for a BIG bite. Big Spooks and buzzbaits are my favorite choices. The bigger the bait the better. In fact, I am having to make my own versions of these baits because there aren't any as big as I like them on the market! I like a buzzbait blade so big that you could get a ticket for using it in a "NO WAKE" zone.

The interesting part is that I like using these big topwater baits during hot, humid and sunny days between the hours of 8am to 2pm. I like summer days with temperatures in the upper 90s+, little or no wind, a lot of humidity and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

My favorite key areas under these conditions are shallow grass cover or steep, undercut banks with overhanging shade trees. A very slow presentation is crucial. I like the buzzbait blades to turn as slow as possible and, my fishing partners can usually eat a can of Vienna sausages before I get a big Spook back to the boat!

Slow presentations with big popping type baits along grass lines or on grass mats have also produced well for me. One thing I have recognized is that many big fish are less pressured in shallow areas during the mid-day hours and do not see many topwater baits. Most people put topwater baits away after the sun comes up.

This ends the discussion on florida bass fishing and now it is for you to apply in your practical life what you have learnt here.

Pennsylvania Trout Fishing

There are more than 83,000 miles of streams and rivers in Pennsylvania, and many of these miles contain trout. Most trout species can be found in Pennsylvania, such as: Rainbow, Brown, and Brook trout. Pennsylvania trout fishing can be quite good in rivers, streams, and lakes. In 2007, the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission plans to stock approximately 4.2 million adult trout into waters within Pennsylvania that is open to public angling. These are the types of numbers that get stocked into the waters of Pennsylvania each year, so the trout population remains quite healthy.

I grew up fishing for trout in Pennsylvania and as a matter of fact it's where I met my fishing mentor, who indecently was the best trout fisherman that I've ever known. The rivers, streams, and lakes of central Pennsylvania were the place where I personally learned to fish for trout. I know apply the tips and techniques that my mentor taught me in Pennsylvania all over the country.

The most effective technique for trout fishing in Pennsylvania is the use of a rig called a set of gang hooks. A set of gang hooks is simply two small hooks tied in tandem. This enables the angler to present live bait in a completely natural manner, especially live worms. And in the case of Pennsylvania trout fishing, these hooks work great. These hooks also work great for fishing in lakes in Pennsylvania. They get used exactly as you would normally fish a single hook, but with gang hooks there are 2 hooks. That means you can present twice as much Powerbait, cheese, corn, or whatever your favorite trout bait is.

While using gang hooks and a bait bag to carry his worms, my mentor used to catch 4-5 pound trout out of central Pennsylvania waters. He didn't catch trout this size every week, but he caught them this size every year, and smaller trout whenever he wanted. A trout in the 4-5 pound range is a flat out trophy no matter where you fish., but the point is that My mentor used to catch trout in this size range while fishing in Pennsylvania.

The bottom line is that Pennsylvania trout fishing is as good as anywhere in the country as far a numbers of fish go. The waters out west have PA beat as far as native fish go, but that's simply because the waters out west gets much less fishing pressure. Pennsylvania trout fishing is as good as it gets and the techniques mentioned in this article will help anyone catch more trout while fishing in the state of Pennsylvania.
